Diagnostic Fault Information

Circuit/System Description

S12 is part of the Rear Compartment Lid Release Switch - Front Hinge - Left assembly. The folding top control (FTC) module uses S12 to determine it the left front corner of the rear deck lid is latched. S12 is closed and pulls the signal circuit low when the left front corner of the rear deck lid is latched.

Conditions for Running the DTC

The FTC module is operational.

Conditions for Setting the DTC

An open or short to ground is detected on the signal circuit of S12.

Action Taken When the DTC Sets

The top is disabled.

Conditions for Clearing the DTC

The fault is no longer present and the top completes one cycle.

Diagnostic Aids

* An open or high resistance on the low reference circuit may also cause a DTC B366B 59 to set.
* A weak battery may cause DTC B366A 59 to set.

Circuit/System Testing

1. Ignition OFF, disconnect the harness connector at S12.
2. Ignition ON, verify the scan tool LF RCL Latched Switch parameter is Inactive.

If not the specified value, test the signal circuit terminal A for a short to ground. If the circuit tests normal, replace the FTC module.

3. Connect a fused jumper wire between the signal circuit terminal A and ground.
4. Verify the scan tool LF RCL Latched Switch parameter is Active.

If not the specified value, test the signal circuit for an open/high resistance. If the circuit tests normal, replace the FTC module.

5. Test the signal circuit of S12 for a short to voltage. If the circuit test is normal, replace S12.
