Fuel Pressure Gage Installation and Removal




Fuel Pressure Gage Installation and Removal

Special Tools
* CH-48027 - Digital Pressure Gage
* J 43178 - Fuel Line Disconnect Tool

Installation Procedure

1. Relieve the fuel pressure. Refer to Fuel Pressure Relief (Service and Repair).
2. Remove the engine cover.
3. Remove the quick connect coupling cover of the fuel feed hose.




4. Using the J 43178 - disconnect tool , disconnect the quick connect coupling of the fuel feed hose from the fuel feed pipe of the fuel rail. Use a shop towel in order to catch any remaining fuel that may leak. Refer to Metal Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service (Metal Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service).
5. Install the CH-48027 - gage between the fuel feed pipe of the fuel rail and of the fuel feed hose.
6. Install the CH-48027 - gage and tighten securely.

Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution (Fastener Caution).

7. Connect the negative battery cable and tighten the retainer to 15 Nm (11 lb ft).
8. Turn ON the ignition in order to pressurize the fuel system.
9. Turn OFF the ignition.
10. Check for any fuel leaks.

Removal Procedure

1. Relieve the fuel pressure. Refer to the Fuel Pressure Relief (Service and Repair).
2. Remove the CH-48027 - gage.
3. Using the J 43178 - disconnect tool , disconnect the quick connect coupling of the CH-48027 - gage from the fuel feed pipe of the fuel rail. Use a shop towel in order to catch any remaining fuel that may leak.
4. Disconnect the quick connect coupling of the fuel feed hose from the CH-48027 - gage , and remove the adapter. Use a shop towel in order to catch any remaining fuel that may leak.




5. Connect the quick-connect fitting of the fuel feed hose (2) to the fuel feed pipe (1) of the fuel rail. Refer to Metal Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service (Metal Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service).
6. Install the cover for the quick connect coupling of the fuel feed hose.

Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution (Fastener Caution).

7. Connect the negative battery cable and tighten the retainer to 15 Nm (11 lb ft).
8. Turn ON the ignition in order to pressurize the fuel system.
9. Turn OFF the ignition.
10. Check for any fuel leaks.
11. Install the engine cover.
