Front Wheel Speed Sensor Replacement

Removal Procedure




1. Remove the wheel housing. Refer to Wheelhouse Panel Replacement (Service and Repair).
Note: The wheel speed sensor is serviceable only as an assembly. Do NOT attempt to service the sensor harness pigtail.

2. Disconnect the wheel speed sensor electrical connector (1).




3. Remove the bolt (1) retaining the wheel speed sensor pigtail harness.




4. Remove the bolt (1) and separate the brake hose.




5. Remove the bolt (1) and the sensor clamp from the strut.




6. Remove the sensor harness clamp (1).




7. Remove the wheel speed sensor retaining bolt (1) and remove the wheel speed sensor (2) from the steering knuckle.

Installation Procedure





Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution (Fastener Caution).

1. Install the wheel speed sensor (2) to the steering knuckle. Secure with 1 bolt.

Tighten the front wheel speed sensor bolt to 8.5 Nm (76 lb in).




2. Install the sensor harness clamp (1).




3. Install the sensor clamp to the strut (1).




4. Position the brake hose. Secure with bolt (1).

Tighten the sensor clamp bolt to 29 Nm (21 lb ft).




5. Position the wheel speed sensor pigtail harness. Secure with bolt (1).

Tighten the harness bolt to 8 Nm (71 lb in).




6. Connect the wheel speed sensor electrical connector (1).
7. Install the wheel housing. Refer to Wheelhouse Panel Replacement (Service and Repair).
8. Perform Diagnostic System Check - Vehicle (Diagnostic System Check - Vehicle).
