45. Camshaft Cover Installation




Camshaft Cover Installation




1. Install a new gasket to the cylinder head cover.




2. Install 3 new gaskets (1, 2, 3) to the camshaft bearing cap.





Note:
* Remove any oil from the contact surfaces.
* Install the cylinder head cover within 3 minutes and tighten the bolts within 15 minutes after applying seal packing.
* Do not start the engine for at least 2 hours after the installation.

3. Apply Three Bond 1207B or equivalent sealant to the areas shown (1, 2).





Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution (Fastener Caution).

4. Install the cylinder head cover with a new seal washer and the 13 bolts (1-13) and tighten to 10 Nm (7 lb ft).




5. Install the camshaft timing oil control valve assembly.
6. Apply a light coat of engine oil to a new O-ring (1), then install it onto the camshaft timing oil control valve.




7. Install the 2 camshaft timing oil control valves and bracket with the 2 bolts (1, 2) and tighten to 10 Nm (7 lb ft).




8. Install the camshaft position sensor.
9. Apply a light coat of engine oil to the O-ring (1) of the sensor.




10. Install the 2 sensors with the 2 bolts (1, 2) and tighten to 10 Nm (7 lb ft).




11. Using a 14 mm spark plug wrench, install the 4 spark plugs and tighten to 20 Nm (15 lb ft).
12. Install the ignition coils.




13. Install the 2 engine cover joints (1, 2) and tighten to 10 Nm (7 lb ft).




14. Install the oil filler cap gasket (1).




15. Install the oil filler cap (1).
