Throttle Body Assembly Replacement
Removal Procedure
1. Drain the engine coolant. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling (Service and Repair).
2. Remove the engine cover. Refer to Engine Cover Replacement (Service and Repair).
3. Remove the air cleaner cap sub-assembly with hose.
4. Disconnect the mass air flow meter connector (3) and the 2 wire harness clamps (1, 2).
5. Disconnect the ventilation hose and loosen the hose clamp (2).
6. Unlock the 2 clamps (1) and remove the air cleaner cap sub-assembly with hose.
7. Disconnect the throttle body connector (1) and the 2 water by-pass hoses (2).
8. Remove the 2 bolts (2, 4) and the 2 nuts (1, 3), and remove the throttle body assembly.
9. Remove the gasket (1) from the intake manifold.
Installation Procedure
1. Install a new gasket (1) onto the intake manifold.
Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution (Fastener Caution)
2. Install the throttle body assembly with the 2 bolts and 2 nuts and tighten to 10Nm (7 lb ft).
3. Connect the 2 water by-pass hoses (2) and the throttle body connector (1).
4. Install the air cleaner cap sub-assembly with hose and lock the 2 clamps.
5. Tighten the hose clamp (1) to 2.0Nm (18 lb in).
6. Connect the ventilation hose (1).
7. Connect the wire harness clamp (1, 2) and mass air flow meter connector (3).
8. Add engine coolant. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling (Service and Repair).
9. Inspect for a coolant leak.
10. Install the engine cover. Refer to Engine Cover Replacement (Service and Repair).
