Test Point 11 - Fuel Injectors

TEST POINT 11

Fuel Injectors

1. If engine can be run, pull oft plugs on fuel injectors separately.
Engine speed should drop each time it injectors are in perfect operating condition.

2. It engine cannot be run, measure voltage on plug connection of injectors. One of both female plugs must have battery voltage.

3. Measure coil resistance of fuel injector.
Specification: 2 to 3 ohms.

4. Check injection timing.
Tune in oscilloscope to supplier's instructions.
Connect adapter lead (Bosch "L-Jetronic", No.1 684 463 093) between a fuel injector and corresponding plug connection.

Caution! Tester leads must not contact ground.

Start engine. Oscilloscope will display following oscillographs, if fuel injection timing is in perfect operating condition.

Starter Speed:

Acceleration:




Deceleration:





Note: If the engine does not start or the idle speed drops, change test connections on adapter lead and check tester tuning.
