Test Point 1 - Checking Ground and Plug Connections

TEST POINT 1

Ground Connections

Note: Test points should be performed in specified order, especially if engine does not run or runs erratically.




1. Ground point on intake pipe of cyl. 1




2. Ground point next to fuel filter.




3. Ground connection between body and engine/transmission.

Plug Connections

Check following plugs for correct fit, bent female plugs and corrosion thoroughly.




1. Plug 1 = DME control unit
Plug 2 = DME relay
Plug 3 = Altitude correction box




2. Plug on regulator plate.




3. Plug in engine compartment on front cross member.




4. Plug 4 = Temperature sensor II (engine temperature)
Plug 5 = Speed sensor DG
Plug 6 = Reference mark sensor BG




5. Plug 7 = Idle positioner
Plug 8 = Throttle switch/ Idle contact
Plug 9 = Full load contact




6. Air flow sensor plug.




7. Plugs of fuel injectors.
