468320 Removing and installing brake shoes
WM 468320 Removing and installing brake shoes
Information
Installation: Ensure that the hooks (curved ends of the spring) of the compression springs -6- are engaged correctly on the wheel carrier!
The ends of the springs must be pointing upwards on wheel carriers with index 04 or 05 (last 2 digits of the part number).
In the case of modified wheel carriers with index 06 or higher (used in production from 21 October 2005 onwards), the ends of the springs must point towards the centre of the wheel (left spring pointing right/right spring pointing left).
The wheel carriers are differentiated based on the part number, which can be seen close to the (raised) steering arm.
Adjustment: The brake shoes can be adjusted using the adjustment device -2-. No further adjustment is required because the parking-brake cables cannot be adjusted manually (self-adjusting system).
