Preliminary work

1. Remove rear underbody panelling.
-> 519419 Removing and installing cover for rear underbody 519419 Removing and Installing Cover for Rear Underbody.

WARNING

Hot fluid

- Danger of scalding

-> Let the fluid cool down.
-> Wear personal protective gear.

2. Drain coolant.
-> 193817 Draining and filling coolant Service and Repair.

Removing coolant connection piece

Information

- Always replace O-rings.

- Moulded seals can be reused and are only replaced if damaged.

1. Remove coolant connection piece -1-.
1.1. Pull off large coolant hose at the Henn coupling and small hose -5- at the connection piece.
1.2. Refit spring clamp on the Henn coupling.
1.3. Unscrew one external Torx screw (E10, M6 x 25) -4-.
1.4. Unscrew three external Torx screws (E12, M8 x 70) -2-.
1.5. Remove coolant pipe, check moulded seal -3- and replace it if necessary.

2. Clean connecting surfaces and sealing faces.

Installing coolant connection piece

Information

- Grease O-rings, hoses and lines in the cooling system with Kluberplus Gel (Part No. 000.043.205.93).

1. Install coolant connection piece -1-.
1.1. Lightly grease moulded seal -3- and connections.
1.2. Fit coolant connection piece on the coolant distributor using three external Torx screws (E12, M8 x 70) -2-.
1.3. Fit and tighten external Torx screw (E10, M6 x 25) -4-.
1.4. Fit coolant hoses. The Henn coupling must lock with an audible click.

Subsequent work

1. Fill and bleed the coolant system.

2. Install rear underbody cover.
