Preliminary work

1. Remove the front lid. -> 552219 Removing and installing front lid - section on "Removing" Removal and Replacement
2. Remove cowl panel cover. -> 508700 Removing and installing cowl panel cover - section on "Removing" Service and Repair

Information

Some of the repair illustrations show only one side of the vehicle. Naturally, some steps also have to be performed on the opposite side of the vehicle as well. These must be carried out as a mirror image of the steps shown.

1. Unscrew fastening screws -1-.

2. Remove the hinge.

Information

1. Roughly align the hinge according to the old impressions.
2. Screw in fastening screws and tighten to the specified tightening torque => Tightening torque: 20 Nm (15 ftlb.).

Subsequent work

1. Install cowl panel cover. -> 508700 Removing and installing cowl panel cover - section on "Installing" Service and Repair
2. Install the front lid. -> 552219 Removing and installing front lid - section on "Installing" Removal and Replacement
3. Adjust the front lid. -> 552215 Adjusting front lid Adjustments
4. Carry out a function test on the front lid lock. -> 552219 Removing and installing front lid - section on "Adjusting" Removal and Replacement
