Technical values





Preliminary work

1. Remove front section of inner door sill trim. -> 680519 Removing and installing inner door sill trim - section on "Removing"
2. Remove cover on front lock support. -> 703919 Removing and installing cover for front lock support - section on "Removing" 70391900 Removing and installing cover for front lock support

Removing release for front lid





Installation position of release for front lid

1. Unclip cable for front lid -1- at the lower part of the front lid lock.





Disconnecting cable at lower part of lid lock

1.1. Release locking lug -2- on cable for front lid -A-.
1.2. Unclip cable for lower part of lid lock -1- ( -B- ).
2. Disconnect cable for front lid at the release mechanism.

2.1. Unclip guide tube at the release mechanism and swivel the cable out -A-.
2.2. Remove the cable from the mounting -B-.
3. Unscrew fastening screws -2-.

4. Swivel release mechanism down and out.

Installing release for front lid

1. Guide in locking lug for front lid release -A- and fold up the release -B-.





Positioning front lid release

2. Screw in fastening screws -2- => Tightening torque: 2 Nm (1.5 ftlb.).

3. Secure cable for front lid release.

3.1. Fit driver into the bracket -A-.
3.2. Clip guide tube into the bracket -B-.
4. Secure cable for release for lower part of front lid lock.

4.1. Clip driver into installation position.
4.2. Clip in cable -1- on lower part of lid lock.

Checking front lid lock

Function test on front lid lock

Information

The lid lock does not have an emergency release.

When working close to the front apron and on the various parts of the lock, carry out the following function test before closing the lid:

1. Check that the release cable is clipped fully into the brackets provided.
2. Lock the lower part of the lid lock with a screwdriver.
3. Release the lid lock using the lever in the passenger compartment.
4. Perform a visual inspection to check that the lock releases correctly.

Subsequent work

1. Install front section of inner door sill trim. -> 680519 Removing and installing inner door sill trim - section on "Installing"
2. Install cover for front lock support. -> 703919 Removing and installing cover for front lock support - section on "Installing" 70391900 Removing and installing cover for front lock support
