Preliminary work

Removing brake light switch

Information

The brake light switch is located in the left footwell next to the brake pedal.

1. Unplug electric plug connection -1- ( -A- ).

2. Pull brake light switch -3- out of frame -2- ( -C- ).
3. Release frame -2- of brake light switch -B-.
4. Press frame -2- up and out of the retaining bracket.

Installing brake light switch

Information

The brake light switch sensor works without contact.

For the switch to work correctly, there must be a specified air gap between the sensor and the baffle plate on the brake pedal.

The baffle plate must not touch the sensor.

When installing, make sure that the brake pedal is in the normal position.

1. Before installing, press brake light switch -1- out of the frame -2- until the underside is flush with the frame.

2. Insert brake light switch -1- with frame -2- into the retaining bracket from above until the frame's retaining clip latches securely in the retaining bracket -A-.
3. Insert electric plug connection -3- ( -B- ).

Adjusting brake light switch

1. Make sure that the brake pedal is in the normal position.

2. Hold brake pedal in one hand and press down on the sensor in the frame with the other until the sensor surface is touching the counter plate on the brake pedal.

Information

Between the sensor and counter plate in the basic setting there is a gap of:=> Adjustment value: 1 mm+/-0.5 mm

3. Press sensor in the frame back up by one to two notches until the gap between the sensor and the baffle plate has reached the dimension -x- ().
4. Perform a function test.
