Fault Code 4/25791, 4/257B1, 4/257B2

Malfunction indicated
Kick-Down Wire faulty.

Fault symptom
TCS CTRL lamp on.

Test procedure

Note: These codes are always set in conjunction with calibration of the KDW.

1 Clear the fault code, carry out calibration afresh and check whether the fault codes recur.

2 If the fault codes are generated afresh, check the connections to the KDW motor, the lever, wire attachment, etc.

3 Check that the basic setting of the wire is OK. If not, adjust it.
Also check the connection of the wire to the transmission.

4 If there is nothing in the cable/transmission which affects the KD wire, check the actuator motor for a mechanical fault, as follows:
a. Unplug the KDW motor connector and disconnect the wire.
b. Move the lever back and forth to check whether the resistance it offers feels normal (the force of the spring should offer even and distinct resistance).fit does not, change the actuator motor.
C. If the resistance offered by the motor's lever feels normal, check the pins in the motor and cable connectors. Then refit the wire and plug in the connector.

5 If any other fault code relating to the KDW motor occurs, carry out fault tracing according to the fault-tracing schedule for the relevant fault code.
