Test procedure

1 Check the colour coding to ensure that the hoses are connected to the correct valve ports.

2 Enter ISAT command code 552 and listen to the control valve to check that it is working.

If not, unplug the control valve's connector and measure the resistance across the pins on the valve.

The resistance should be approx.30 ohms.

If not, change the valve.

3 With the ignition switch in the Drive position, check that battery voltage is present across pin 2 of the unplugged connector and earth.
If not, check the BU lead between pin 2 of the connector and the +30 supply for continuity or shorting to earth.

4 Check that signal earth is present at pin 1 of the unplugged connector by checking the GY lead between pin 1 of the connector and pin 6 of the control unit for continuity or shorting to earth.

5 Check the turbo by-pass valve.

6 Check the vacuum hoses for leaks.

7 Try an ETS control which is known to be OK.
