Check Engine Lamp
MALFUNCTION INDICATOR (CHECK ENGINE) LAMP
CHECK ENGINE Lamp (MIL)
The lamp is located in the main instrument display and is supplied with +15 current.
The lamp is controlled from pin 22 of the control module and lights up when the ignition switch is turned to the ON position. The lamp goes out as soon as the control module receives pulses from the crankshaft position sensor.
If an emission-related fault arises, the CHECK ENGINE lamp (MIL) will light up. The diagnostic trouble code can then be obtained with an ISAT Scan Tool or with flash codes by grounding pin 2 in the data link connector.
