C0267

C0267 - Low Brake Fluid Indicated

Schematic:

CIRCUIT DESCRIPTION
When a low brake fluid condition exists, the low brake fluid switch closes. When closed, the low brake fluid switch grounds (circuit 333, BCM cavity J1-C5). The body control module (BCM) responds by sending a serial data message to the instrument panel cluster (IPC) to turn On the brake warning light.

DTC PARAMETERS
^ Ignition switch in RUN position.
^ Circuit 333, BCM short to ground or low brake fluid.
^ Service (wrench) light will illuminate.
^ A 2- second delay to account for slash.
^ Brake light will illuminate with ignition in RUN.

DIAGNOSTIC AIDS
^ Inspect wiring harness for damage. Check for broken or chaffed insulation.
^ If fault is suspected to be intermittent, wiggling harness wiring may help in locating fault.
^ Check for poor connection at the BCM. Inspect harness connectors for backed-out terminals, improper terminal mating, broken connector locks, improperly formed or damaged terminals and poor terminal-to-wire connection (terminal crimped over wire insulation and not conductors).
