Garnish Molding Replacement - Lock Pillar Upper

Removal Procedure





1. Unsnap the cover on the rear seat shoulder belt to expose the shoulder belt fastener.
2. Remove the shoulder belt fastener and the shoulder belt.




3. Lower the rear seat back.
4. Partially remove the lock pillar garnish molding by gently pulling at the clip locations.




5. Partially remove the side trim panel at the lock pillar garnish molding location.




6. Partially remove the front upper section of the side trim panel. Squeeze the lock pillar molding to gain access to the headliner. Remove the molding.



Installation Procedure






Important: Apply Permatex(R) 24200 on all restraint fasteners prior to installation.


1. Position the lock pillar molding to the side trim.
2. Align the locator pin on the molding to the structure.
3. Install the lock pillar garnish molding by pushing gently at the clip locations.




4. Install the side trim panel.





Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.

5. Install the rear seat shoulder belt to the rear lock pillar.

Tighten the belt fastener to 50 N.m (37 lb ft).

6. Snap the shoulder belt cover over the fastener.
7. Raise the rear seat back.
8. Test the rear seat shoulder belt to ensure proper operation.
9. Install the door seal over the edge of the garnish molding.
