J 39505 Torque Wrench Adapter
Removal Procedure
1. Disconnect the negative battery cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection (Service and Repair).
2. Install the engine support fixture. Refer to Engine Support Fixture (Engine Support Fixture).
3. Drain the engine oil. Refer to Engine Oil and Oil Filter Replacement (Service and Repair).
4. Remove the oil filter adapter and bypass valve assembly. Refer to Oil Filter Adapter and Bypass Valve Assembly Replacement (Service and Repair).
5. Remove the starter motor. Refer to Starter Replacement (LZ4) (Service and Repair)Starter Replacement (LE5/LAT) (Service and Repair)Starter Replacement (LY7) (Service and Repair).
6. Remove the left side catalytic converter. Refer to Catalytic Converter Replacement - Left Side (LZ4) (Catalytic Converter Replacement - Left Side)Catalytic Converter Replacement - Left Side (LY7 ) (Catalytic Converter Replacement - Left Side)Catalytic Converter Replacement - Left Side (LCS) (Catalytic Converter Replacement - Left Side).
7. Remove the transfer case. Refer to Transfer Case Assembly Replacement (LZ4) (Transfer Case Assembly Replacement)Transfer Case Assembly Replacement (LY7) (Transfer Case Assembly Replacement).
8. Remove the air conditioning (A/C) compressor nut and bolt.
9. Remove the A/C compressor rear bolt and position the A/C compressor aside.
10. Remove the horizontal oil pan bolts (1).
11. Remove the vertical oil pan bolts (2).
12. Remove the oil pan.
13. Remove the oil pan gasket.
14. Clean the following items:
* The oil pan flanges
* The oil pan rail
* The engine front cover
* All threaded holes
Installation Procedure
1. Install a NEW oil pan gasket.
2. Position the oil pan to the engine and hand start all the oil pan bolts.
Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution (Fastener Caution).
3. Torque the vertical oil pan bolts (2) to 25 Nm (18 lb ft).
4. Torque the horizontal oil pan bolts (1) to 50 Nm (37 lb ft).
Note: Hand start all the A/C compressor bolts before finalizing any torques.
5. Tighten the A/C compressor, and hand start the A/C compressor nut and bolt. Tighten the bolt/nut to 50 Nm (37 lb ft).
6. Tighten the A/C compressor rear bolt to 50 Nm (37 lb ft).
7. Install the transfer case. Refer to Transfer Case Assembly Replacement (LZ4) (Transfer Case Assembly Replacement)Transfer Case Assembly Replacement (LY7) (Transfer Case Assembly Replacement).
8. Install the left side catalytic converter. Refer to Catalytic Converter Replacement - Left Side (LZ4) (Catalytic Converter Replacement - Left Side)Catalytic Converter Replacement - Left Side (LY7 ) (Catalytic Converter Replacement - Left Side)Catalytic Converter Replacement - Left Side (LCS) (Catalytic Converter Replacement - Left Side).
9. Install the starter motor. Refer to Starter Replacement (LZ4) (Service and Repair)Starter Replacement (LE5/LAT) (Service and Repair)Starter Replacement (LY7) (Service and Repair).
10. Install the oil filter adapter and bypass valve assembly. Refer to Oil Filter Adapter and Bypass Valve Assembly Replacement (Service and Repair).
11. Fill the engine oil. Refer to Engine Oil and Oil Filter Replacement (Service and Repair).
12. Remove the engine support fixture. Refer to Engine Support Fixture (Engine Support Fixture).
13. Connect the negative battery cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection (Service and Repair).
