Control Valve Lower Body and Upper Body Replacement

Removal Procedure

Danger: Always perform the High Voltage Disabling procedure prior to servicing any High Voltage component or connection. Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) and proper procedures must be followed.

The High Voltage Disabling procedure will perform the following tasks:

* Identify how to disable high voltage.
* Identify how to test for the presence of high voltage.
* Identify condition under which high voltage is always present and personal protection equipment (PPE) and proper procedures must be followed.

Failure to follow the procedures exactly as written may result in serious injury or death.

1. Disable the hybrid high voltage system. Refer to High Voltage Disabling ()
2. Disconnect the 12 volt battery negative cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection (HP5) (Service and Repair)
3. Evacuate the air conditioning system. Refer to Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging (With HP5) (Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging)Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging (Without HP5) (Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging)
4. Remove the upper radiator sight shield. Refer to Radiator Opening Upper Cover Replacement (Radiator Opening Upper Cover Replacement)
5. Using a floor jack, raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle (Service and Repair)
6. Remove the wheel and tire assemblies. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation (Service and Repair)
7. Remove the left and right headlamps from the vehicle. Refer to Headlamp Replacement (Service and Repair)
8. Remove the front bumper fascia. Refer to Front Bumper Fascia Replacement (Base) (Front Bumper Fascia Replacement (Base))Front Bumper Fascia Replacement (Red Line) (Front Bumper Fascia Replacement (Red Line))
9. Remove the radiator assembly. Refer to Radiator Replacement (With HP5) (Service and Repair)Radiator Replacement (Without HP5) (Service and Repair)
10. Remove the hood latch assembly.
11. Drain the generator control module cooling system. Refer to Generator Control Module Cooling System Draining and Filling ()
12. Remove the front transaxle mount to cradle bolts.
13. Remove the two front crossmember bolts, then lower the frame approximately 100mm (4 inches). 14. Remove the control valve body cover. Refer to Control Valve Body Cover Removal (Overhaul)
15. Remove the control valve body and channel plate. Refer to Control Valve Body and Channel Plate Removal (Overhaul)

Installation Procedure

1. Install the control valve body and channel plate. Refer to Control Valve Body and Channel Plate Installation (Overhaul)
2. Install the control valve body cover. Refer to Control Valve Body Cover Installation (Overhaul)
3. Install the two front frame bolts. Refer to Frame Replacement (4T45-E Transmission) (Frame Replacement (4T45-E Transmission))Frame Replacement (6T70 Transmission) (Frame Replacement (6T70 Transmission))Frame Replacement (2MT70 Transmission) (Frame Replacement (2MT70 Transmission))
4. Install the front transaxle mount to cradle bolts. Refer to Transmission Front Mount Replacement (Removal and Replacement)
5. Fill the generator control module cooling system. Refer to Generator Control Module Cooling System Draining and Filling ()
6. Install the hood latch assembly. Refer to Hood Primary and Secondary Latch Replacement (Service and Repair)
7. Install the radiator assembly. Refer to Radiator Replacement (With HP5) (Service and Repair)Radiator Replacement (Without HP5) (Service and Repair)
8. Install the front bumper fascia. Refer to Front Bumper Fascia Replacement (Base) (Front Bumper Fascia Replacement (Base))Front Bumper Fascia Replacement (Red Line) (Front Bumper Fascia Replacement (Red Line))
9. Install the left and right headlamps to the vehicle. Refer to Headlamp Replacement (Service and Repair)
10. Adjust the hood latch assembly. Refer to Hood Latch Adjustment (Adjustments)
11. Install the upper radiator sight shield. Refer to Radiator Opening Upper Cover Replacement (Radiator Opening Upper Cover Replacement)
12. Charge the air conditioning system. Refer to Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging (With HP5) (Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging)Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging (Without HP5) (Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging)
13. Enable the hybrid high voltage system. Refer to High Voltage Enabling ()
14. Connect the 12 volt battery negative cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection (HP5) (Service and Repair)
