Throttle Body Assembly Replacement

Removal Procedure


Notice: Do not use solvent of any type when cleaning the gasket surfaces on the intake manifold and the throttle body assembly, as damage to the gasket surfaces and throttle body assembly may result.

Use care in cleaning the gasket surfaces on the intake manifold and the throttle body assembly, as sharp tools may damage the gasket surfaces.


Notice: Do not use any solvent that contains Methyl Ethyl Ketone (MEK). This solvent may damage fuel system components.

1. Remove the air cleaner assembly. Refer to Air Cleaner Assembly Replacement (Service and Repair) .




2. Disconnect the wiring harness plug (2).
3. Remove the engine venting pipe (1).
Disconnect the quick-release fitting.
4. Place the a drain pan underneath.
5. Remove the 2 coolant hoses (3, 4).

* Disconnect the 2 coolant hoses.
* Remove the 2 clamps.





6. Remove the throttle valve assembly.
Remove the 4 bolts (1).



Installation Procedure


Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice (Fastener Notice) .

1. Install the throttle valve assembly.
Use a NEW gasket.

Tighten the 4 bolts to 8 N.m (71 lb in).

2. Install the 2 coolant hoses.
Install the 2 clamps.
3. Install the wiring harness plug.
4. Install the engine venting hose.
Connect the quick release fitting.
5. Install the air cleaner assembly. Refer to Air Cleaner Assembly Replacement (Service and Repair) .
