EN-48079 Hydraulic Belt Tensioner Compressor
Removal Procedure
1. Remove the air cleaner assembly. Refer to Air Cleaner Assembly Replacement (1st Design) (Service and Repair)Air Cleaner Assembly Replacement (2nd Design) (Service and Repair).
2. Remove the engine mount bracket. Refer to Engine Mount Bracket Replacement (Service and Repair).
3. Install the EN-48079 (1) to the drive belt tensioner spring.
4. Compress the drive belt tensioner spring fully using the EN-48079 (1).
5. Install a box wrench to the drive belt tensioner (2) and rotate the tensioner clockwise in order to release the tension from the drive belt.
6. With the tensioner released, remove the drive belt from under the middle idler pulley.
7. Slowly rotate the tensioner clockwise in order to allow the tensioner to rest.
8. Remove the drive belt from the vehicle.
Installation Procedure
1. Install and position the drive belt around all of the pulleys except for the middle idler pulley.
2. Install a box wrench to the drive belt tensioner (2) and rotate the tensioner counterclockwise in order to release the tensioner.
3. Install the drive belt under the middle idler pulley.
4. Slowly rotate the tensioner counterclockwise in order to allow the tensioner to rest against the drive belt.
5. Loosen the forcing bolt on the EN-48079 (1) and remove from the drive belt tensioner spring.
6. Ensure that the drive belt tensioner idler is fully seated against the drive belt.
7. Install the engine mount bracket. Refer to Engine Mount Bracket Replacement (Service and Repair).
8. Install the air cleaner assembly. Refer to Air Cleaner Assembly Replacement (1st Design) (Service and Repair)Air Cleaner Assembly Replacement (2nd Design) (Service and Repair).
