Front Wheel Drive Shaft Seal Replacement

* KM-557-A Remover

Removal Procedure

1. Remove the axle shaft affected from transmission. Refer to Wheel Drive Shaft Replacement (Service and Repair).
Important: Place a drip pan underneath, transmission fluid will escape. Axle shaft remains in wheel hub.





2. Remove the affected axle shaft seal ring with KM-557-A (2) and KM-446 (1) from transmission housing.

Installation Procedure




1. Install the new axle shaft seal ring.

* Coat the axle shaft seal ring with transmission fluid.
* Install the axle shaft seal ring flush in the transmission. For F17 use KM-446 (1)

2. Install the axle shaft in the transmission. Refer to Wheel Drive Shaft Replacement (Service and Repair).
3. Inspect the transmission fluid level. Refer to Transmission Fluid Check (Transmission Fluid Check).
