Exhaust Manifold Heat Shield Replacement (LAT) (2.4L Hybrid)

Removal Procedure




1. Remove the air cleaner outlet duct. Refer to Air Cleaner Outlet Duct Replacement (Air Cleaner Outlet Duct Replacement).
2. Disconnect the engine wiring harness electrical connector (1) from the heater coolant pump (2).




3. Remove the exhaust manifold heat shield bolt (3) securing the heater coolant pump bracket.
4. Reposition and secure the heater coolant pump (1) and bracket out of the way.




5. Remove the remaining exhaust manifold heat shield bolts (1).
6. Remove the exhaust manifold heat shield (2).

Installation Procedure




1. Install the exhaust manifold heat shield (2) onto the manifold.

Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution (Fastener Caution).

2. Install the 2 exhaust manifold heat shield bolts (1) and tighten to 23 Nm (17 lb ft).





Note: Ensure that the heater coolant pump bracket tabs (2) are positioned on either side of the heat shield bracket.

3. Position the heater coolant pump (1) and bracket to the heat shield bracket.
4. Install the remaining exhaust manifold heat shield bolt (3) and tighten to 23 Nm (17 lb ft).




5. Connect the engine wiring harness electrical connector (1) to the heater coolant pump (2).
6. Install the air cleaner outlet duct. Refer to Air Cleaner Outlet Duct Replacement (Air Cleaner Outlet Duct Replacement).
