MIRROR: OUTER REAR VIEW MIRROR: INSPECTION
1. INSPECT OUTER REAR VIEW MIRROR ASSEMBLY LH

(a) Check the operation.
(1) Connect the positive (+) lead from the battery to terminal 3 (MV) and the negative (-) lead to terminal 7 (M+), then check that the mirror turns upward.
OK:
Turns upward
If the result is not as specified, replace the outer rear view mirror.
(2) Connect the positive (+) lead from the battery to terminal 7 (M+) and the negative (-) lead to terminal 3 (MV), then check that the mirror turns downward.
OK:
Turns downward
If the result is not as specified, replace the outer rear view mirror.
(3) Connect the positive (+) lead from the battery to terminal 6 (MH) and the negative (-) lead to terminal 7 (M+), then check that the mirror turns left.
OK:
Turns left
If the result is not as specified, replace the outer rear view mirror.
(4) Connect the positive (+) lead from the battery to terminal 7 (M+) and the negative (-) lead to terminal 6 (MH), then check that the mirror turns right.
OK:
Turns right
If the result is not as specified, replace the outer rear view mirror.
(b) Check mirror heater (w/ mirror heater).

(1) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard Resistance:
If the result is not as specified, replace the outer rear view mirror.
2. INSPECT OUTER REAR VIEW MIRROR ASSEMBLY RH

(a) Check the operation.
(1) Connect the positive (+) lead from the battery to terminal 3 (MV) and the negative (-) lead to terminal 7 (M+), then check that the mirror turns upward.
OK:
Turns upward
If the result is not as specified, replace the outer rear view mirror.
(2) Connect the positive (+) lead from the battery to terminal 7 (M+) and the negative (-) lead to terminal 3 (MV), then check that the mirror turns downward.
OK:
Turns downward
If the result is not as specified, replace the outer rear view mirror.
(3) Connect the positive (+) lead from the battery to terminal 6 (MH) and the negative (-) lead to terminal 7 (M+), then check that the mirror turns left.
OK:
Turns left
If the result is not as specified, replace the outer rear view mirror.
(4) Connect the positive (+) lead from the battery to terminal 7 (M+) and the negative (-) lead to terminal 6 (MH), then check that the mirror turns right.
OK:
Turns right
If the result is not as specified, replace the outer rear view mirror.
(b) Check mirror heater (w/ mirror heater).
