DESCRIPTION

If either the sliding function or tilt function does not operate, there may be a malfunction in the sliding roof switch circuit.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

NOTICE:
When the sliding roof drive gear sub-assembly is removed and reinstalled or replaced, the sliding roof drive gear sub-assembly must be initialized Programming and Relearning.

PROCEDURE

1. PERFORM ACTIVE TEST USING TECHSTREAM (SLIDING ROOF OPERATION)

(a) Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.

(b) Turn the ignition switch to ON.

(c) Turn the Techstream on.

(d) Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Sliding Roof / Active Test.

(e) According to the display on the Techstream, perform the Active Test.

Sliding Roof





OK:

Sliding roof operates normally.

NG -- REPLACE SLIDING ROOF DRIVE GEAR SUB-ASSEMBLY (SLIDING ROOF ECU) Disassembly (from 10/2010)
OK -- Continue to next step.

2. READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM (SLIDING ROOF SWITCH)

(a) Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.

(b) Turn the ignition switch to ON.

(c) Turn the Techstream on.

(d) Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Sliding Roof / Data List.

(e) According to the display on the Techstream, read the Data List.

OK:

The Techstream displays as shown in the table according to the operation of each switch.

NG -- INSPECT MAP LIGHT ASSEMBLY (SLIDING ROOF SWITCH)

OK -- REPLACE SLIDING ROOF DRIVE GEAR SUB-ASSEMBLY (SLIDING ROOF ECU) Disassembly (from 10/2010)

3. INSPECT MAP LIGHT ASSEMBLY (SLIDING ROOF SWITCH)

(a) Remove the map light assembly Removal (from 10/2010).





(b) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard Resistance:

OK -- Continue to next step.

4. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (MAP LIGHT - SLIDING ROOF DRIVE GEAR AND BODY GROUND)

(a) Disconnect the J4 map light assembly connector.

(b) Disconnect the J3 sliding roof drive gear sub-assembly connector.

(c) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard Resistance:





NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR

OK -- REPLACE SLIDING ROOF DRIVE GEAR SUB-ASSEMBLY (SLIDING ROOF ECU) Disassembly (from 10/2010)
