Removal





PARKING BRAKE: PARKING BRAKE CABLE: REMOVAL

1. REMOVE REAR WHEEL

2. REMOVE CONSOLE BOX ASSEMBLY

Removal

3. REMOVE CONSOLE BOX MOUNTING BRACKET





(a) Disengage the 2 clamps.

(b) Remove the 5 bolts and console box mounting bracket.

4. REMOVE PARKING BRAKE LEVER SUB-ASSEMBLY Removal

5. DISCONNECT NO. 3 PARKING BRAKE CABLE ASSEMBLY





(a) Disconnect the No. 3 parking brake cable from the parking brake equalizer.

6. DISCONNECT NO. 2 PARKING BRAKE CABLE ASSEMBLY

HINT
Use the same procedure as for the No. 3 parking brake cable.

7. REMOVE NO. 1 PARKING BRAKE CABLE ASSEMBLY





(a) Disengage the 2 claws to remove the No. 1 parking brake cable from the parking brake cable end stopper.

8. REMOVE PARKING BRAKE CABLE END STOPPER





(a) Disengage the 2 claws to remove the parking brake cable end stopper from the parking brake equalizer.

9. REMOVE FRONT FLOOR CENTER BRACE Removal

10. REMOVE CENTER EXHAUST PIPE ASSEMBLY Removal

11. REMOVE FRONT NO. 1 FLOOR HEAT INSULATOR





(a) Remove the 3 nuts and heat insulator.

12. REMOVE FRONT NO. 2 FLOOR HEAT INSULATOR





(a) Remove the 3 nuts and heat insulator.

13. REMOVE REAR FLOOR SIDE MEMBER COVER Removal

14. REMOVE NO. 3 PARKING BRAKE CABLE ASSEMBLY





(a) Using pliers, pinch both ends of the claw on the cable clamp and flex the clamp to remove it.

(b) Remove the 5 bolts and parking brake cable.





(c) Pull the parking brake cable outside of the body.





(d) Disconnect the cable end from the rear disc brake cylinder operation lever.





(e) Insert an offset wrench (14 mm) at the base of the parking brake cable as shown in the illustration to disengage the clip. Pull out the parking brake cable from the rear disc brake cylinder.





(f) Disengage the 2 claws to remove the parking brake cable support clamp from the parking brake cable.
