SUSPENSION: REAR AXLE BEAM: INSTALLATION
1. INSTALL REAR TRAILING BUSH LH
(a) Align the arrow mark on a new rear trailing bush LH with the matchmark on the rear axle beam assembly and temporarily install the rear trailing bush to the rear axle beam assembly. (If the rear axle beam assembly is reused.)
NOTICE:
Be sure to install the bush in the same direction as it was before removal.
The bush has to be installed in a specific direction.
(b) Temporarily install the new rear trailing bush LH as shown in the illustration.
NOTICE:
Be sure to install the bush in the same direction as it was before removal.
The bush has to be installed in a specific direction.
(c) Using SST, install the bush to the rear axle beam assembly.

NOTICE:
Do not damage the rubber portion when installing the bush.
2. INSTALL REAR TRAILING BUSH RH
HINT
Perform the same procedure as for the LH side.
3. TEMPORARILY TIGHTEN REAR AXLE BEAM ASSEMBLY
(a) Temporarily install the rear axle beam assembly with the 2 bolts.
4. INSTALL REAR COIL SPRING UPPER INSULATOR LH Installation
5. INSTALL REAR COIL SPRING LOWER INSULATOR LH
6. INSTALL REAR COIL SPRING LH Installation
7. INSTALL REAR COIL SPRING UPPER INSULATOR RH
HINT
Perform the same procedure as for the LH side.
8. INSTALL REAR COIL SPRING LOWER INSULATOR RH
9. INSTALL REAR COIL SPRING RH
HINT
Perform the same procedure as for the LH side.
10. TEMPORARILY TIGHTEN REAR SHOCK ABSORBER ASSEMBLY LH
(a) While slowly jacking up, temporarily tighten the rear shock absorber LH to the rear axle beam assembly with the bolt and nut.
NOTICE:
Do not excessively jack up the rear axle beam assembly.
HINT
Support the rear shock absorber LH at a position where it compresses by approximately 20 to 30 mm (0.787 to 1.18 in.).
11. TEMPORARILY TIGHTEN REAR SHOCK ABSORBER ASSEMBLY RH
HINT
Perform the same procedure as for the LH side.
12. INSTALL REAR DISC BRAKE DUST COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY LH
13. INSTALL REAR AXLE HUB AND BEARING ASSEMBLY LH Installation

15. INSTALL REAR AXLE HUB AND BEARING ASSEMBLY RH

16. INSTALL REAR DISC (for LH Side) Installation

18. INSTALL REAR DISC BRAKE CYLINDER MOUNTING LH Installation

20. INSTALL REAR DISC BRAKE PAD
(a) Install the 2 rear disc brake pads to the rear disc brake cylinder mounting LH Installation.
NOTICE:
There should be no oil or grease on the friction surfaces of the disc brake pads or the rear disc.
(b) Install the 2 rear disc brake pads to the rear disc brake cylinder mounting RH.
NOTICE:
There should be no oil or grease on the friction surfaces of the disc brake pads or the rear disc.
HINT
Perform the same procedure as for the LH side.
21. INSTALL REAR DISC BRAKE CYLINDER ASSEMBLY LH Installation

23. INSTALL NO. 3 PARKING BRAKE CABLE ASSEMBLY
(a) Insert the No. 3 parking brake cable assembly into the rear disc brake cylinder assembly and engage the clip claws of the No. 3 parking brake cable to the rear disc brake cylinder guide.
(b) Connect the No. 3 parking brake cable end to the rear disc brake cylinder operation lever.
(c) Install the No. 3 parking brake cable with the bolt.
Torque : 6.0 Nm (61 kgf-cm, 53 in-lbf)
24. INSTALL NO. 2 PARKING BRAKE CABLE ASSEMBLY
HINT
Perform the same procedure as for the No. 3 parking brake cable assembly.
25. INSTALL NO. 4 REAR BRAKE TUBE
(a) Install the No. 4 rear brake tube onto the axle beam with the nut.
Torque : 8.5 Nm (87 kgf-cm, 75 in-lbf)
26. INSTALL NO. 3 REAR BRAKE TUBE
HINT
Perform the same procedure as for the No. 4 rear brake tube.
27. INSTALL REAR FLEXIBLE HOSE LH
(a) Install the rear flexible hose LH with the bolt.
Torque : 19 Nm (194 kgf-cm, 14 ft-lbf)
(b) Using union nut wrench (10 mm), connect the No. 4 rear brake tube to the rear flexible hose LH while holding the rear flexible hose LH with a wrench.
without union nut wrench (10 mm) - Torque : 15 Nm (155 kgf-cm, 11 ft-lbf
with union nut wrench (10 mm) - Torque : 14 Nm (143 kgf-cm, 10 ft-lbf
NOTICE:
* This torque value can be obtained by using a torque wrench with a fulcrum length of 300 mm (11.8 in.) and a union nut wrench with a fulcrum length of 22 mm (0.886 in.) Service Precautions.
* This torque value is effective when union nut wrench is parallel to torque wrench.
28. INSTALL REAR FLEXIBLE HOSE RH
(a) Install the rear flexible hose RH with a new clip.
NOTICE:
Install the clip as far as it will go.
(b) Using union nut wrench (10 mm), connect the No. 3 rear brake tube to the rear flexible hose RH while holding the rear flexible hose RH with a wrench.
without union nut wrench (10 mm) - Torque : 15 Nm (155 kgf-cm, 11 ft-lbf
with union nut wrench (10 mm) - Torque : 14 Nm (143 kgf-cm, 10 ft-lbf
NOTICE:
* This torque value can be obtained by using a torque wrench with a fulcrum length of 300 mm (11.8 in.) and a union nut wrench with a fulcrum length of 22 mm (0.886 in.) Service Precautions.
* This torque value is effective when union nut wrench is parallel to a torque wrench.
29. CONNECT REAR BRAKE TUBE FLEXIBLE HOSE (for LH Side)
(a) Install a new clip.
NOTICE:
Install the clip as far as it will go.
(b) Using union nut wrench (10 mm), connect the No. 4 rear brake tube to the rear brake flexible hose while holding the rear brake flexible hose with a wrench.
without union nut wrench (10 mm) - Torque : 15 Nm (155 kgf-cm, 11 ft-lbf
with union nut wrench (10 mm) - Torque : 14 Nm (143 kgf-cm, 10 ft-lbf
NOTICE:
* This torque value can be obtained by using a torque wrench with a fulcrum length of 300 mm (11.8 in.) and a union nut wrench with a fulcrum length of 22 mm (0.886 in.) Service Precautions.

30. CONNECT REAR BRAKE TUBE FLEXIBLE HOSE (for RH Side)
HINT
Perform the same procedure as for the LH side.
31. CONNECT SKID CONTROL SENSOR WIRE (for LH Side)
(a) Install the nut and connect the 2 clamps.
Torque : 8.5 Nm (87 kgf-cm, 75 in-lbf)
(b) Connect the connector.
32. CONNECT SKID CONTROL SENSOR WIRE (for RH Side)
HINT
Perform the same procedure as for the LH side.
33. INSTALL REAR FLOOR SIDE MEMBER BRACE SUB-ASSEMBLY
(a) Install the rear floor side member brace sub-assembly with the 4 bolts and clamp.
Torque : 54 Nm (550 kgf-cm, 40 ft-lbf)
34. FILL RESERVOIR WITH BRAKE FLUID Service and Repair
35. BLEED BRAKE MASTER CYLINDER Service and Repair
36. BLEED BRAKE LINE Service and Repair
37. BLEED BRAKE ACTUATOR Service and Repair
38. INSPECT FLUID LEVEL IN RESERVOIR Service and Repair
39. INSPECT FOR BRAKE FLUID LEAK
40. INSPECT PARKING BRAKE LEVER TRAVEL Adjustments
41. ADJUST PARKING BRAKE LEVER TRAVEL Adjustments
42. INSTALL UPPER CONSOLE PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY Installation
43. INSTALL REAR WHEELS
Torque : 103 Nm (1050 kgf-cm, 76 ft-lbf)
44. STABILIZE SUSPENSION
(a) Jack up the rear axle carrier, placing a wooden block to avoid damage. Apply load to the suspension so that the rear drive shaft assembly is horizontally positioned.
45. FULLY TIGHTEN REAR AXLE BEAM ASSEMBLY
(a) Fully tighten the rear axle beam assembly with the left and right bolts.
Torque : 135 Nm (1377 kgf-cm, 100 ft-lbf)
NOTICE:
Make sure that all tires of the vehicle are on the ground and the vehicle is unloaded.
46. FULLY TIGHTEN REAR SHOCK ABSORBER ASSEMBLY LH
(a) Hold the nut and fully tighten the bolt.
Torque : 90 Nm (918 kgf-cm, 66 ft-lbf)
NOTICE:
* Do not turn the nut.
* Make sure that all tires of the vehicle are on the ground and the vehicle is unloaded.
47. FULLY TIGHTEN REAR SHOCK ABSORBER ASSEMBLY RH
HINT
Perform the same procedure as for the LH side.
48. INSTALL REAR FLOOR SIDE MEMBER COVER LH Installation
