DTC P1701CRUISE CONTROL SET SIGNAL CIRCUIT MALFUNCTION FOR AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION (CRS)
Description
Detects operation of cruise control and expands "4th" operating range.
DTC Detecting Condition
Two consecutive trips with fault.
1. Check harness connector between Transmission Control Module (TCM) and CCM.
a. Turn Ignition Switch to "OFF".
b. Disconnect connectors from TCM and CCM.
c. Measure resistance of harness connector between TCM and CCM.
[CHECK]: Connector & terminal:
(B56) No. 3 - (B94) No. 3/10 Ohms or less.
[NO]: Repair open circuit of harness between TCM connector and CCM connector.
[YES]: Go to next step.
d. Measure resistance of harness connector between TCM and body.
[CHECK]: Connector & terminal:
(B56) No. 3 - Body/1 M-Ohms or more.
[NO]: Repair short circuit of harness between TCM connector and CCM connector.
[YES]: Go to step 2.
2. Check input signal for TCM.
a. Connect connector to TCM and CCM.
b. Lift-up the vehicle or set the vehicle on free rollers.
CAUTION: On AWD models, raise all wheels off the ground.
c. Start the engine.
d. Cruise control main switch to "ON".
e. TCS "OFF" switch to "ON". (with TCS models only)
f. Move selector lever to "D" and slowly increase vehicle speed to 50 km/h (31 MPH).
g. Cruise control set switch to "ON".
h. Measure voltage between TCM and body.
[CHECK]: Connector & terminal:
(B56) No. 3 - Body/1 Volt or less.
[NO]: Check cruise control set circuit.
[YES]: Go to next [CHECK].
[CHECK]: Is there poor contact in TCM connector?
[YES]: Repair poor contact in TCM connector.
[NO]: Replace TCM with a new one.
