Impact Sensor

ADJUSTMENT

1. CHECK IMPACT SENSOR
1. Remove the key from ignition switch.
2. Close all windows.
3. Close all the doors and rear gate. Leave the front hood open.
4. Press the LOCK button of the keyless transmitter from outside the vehicle.
5. After 30 seconds, check if the security indicator light blinks twice in 0.5 second at 2 seconds intervals.
6. For all glasses, hit the glass strongly and consecutively to see if the security alarm operates. In addition, lift the front hood by approximately 12 cm (4.7 in) or more and let it drop by its weight to see if the security alarm operates.
7. If it does not operate, adjust the impact sensitivity.

2. IMPACT SENSITIVITY ADJUSTMENT
1. Prepare the Subaru Select Monitor kit.
2. Turn the ignition switch to ON (engine OFF) and run the "PC application for Subaru Select Monitor".
3. On [System Selection Menu] display, select {Impact Sensor}.
4. Execute the {Sensitivity Adjustment Mode}.
- The sensitivity can be adjusted in 11 levels from 0 to 10.
- The initial value is 5.
- A smaller number indicates a higher sensitivity.
- A larger number indicates a lower sensitivity.

5. Turn the ignition switch to OFF and remove the Subaru Select Monitor.

NOTE:
- Make sure that the sensitivity is set to an appropriate level so that any minor vibration typically experienced on a daily basis, such as a person leaning over a door or a ball hitting vehicle lightly, will not activate the alarm.
- The alarm should respond to significant vibrations that suggest a violence by a theft such as window glasses or doors being hit strongly and consecutively.
- The alarm may respond to substantial vibrations even though they do not mean any theft behavior, for example, road construction, multi-story parking space, train passing, vehicle getting on a ferry. Therefore, when adjusting the sensitivity, consult the customer to confirm the parking environment or other external conditions.
- If the sensitivity adjustment fails, the buzzer sounds four times. At that time, check the following points.
- Error in CAN communication
- Harness for open between body integrated unit and impact sensor
- Body integrated unit, or impact sensor failure
