P0111
Wiring Diagram:
CIRCUIT DESCRIPTION
Located on the air cleaner, this sensor measures the temperature of the intake air and converts its change into that in resistance through the thermistor like the ECT sensor.
By monitoring the resistance of the IAT sensor, ECM (PCM) detects the intake air temperature and use it as one of the signals to control IAC valve, EGR valve, fuel injectors and ignition timing.
DTC Detecting Condition And Trouble Area:
DTC CONFIRMATION PROCEDURE
WARNING:
- When performing a road test, select a place where there is no traffic or possibility of a traffic accident and be very careful during testing to avoid occurrence of an accident.
- Road test should be carried out with 2 persons, a driver and a tester, on a level road.
1. Connect scan tool to DLC with ignition switch OFF.
2. Turn ON ignition switch and clear DTC, pending DTC and freeze frame data in ECM memory by using scan tool and start engine.
3. Check vehicle and environmental condition for:
- Engine coolant temp. at engine start: 30 °C (86 °F) or lower
4. Warm up engine to normal operating temperature and confirm that intake air temp. is 60 °C (140 °F) or higher and engine coolant temp. is within 75 - 110 °C (167 - 230 °F).
5. Drive vehicle above 35 mph (55 km/h) for 3 min. or more.
6. Stop vehicle with engine running at idle for 3 min. or more.
7. Check pending DTC and DTC.
