C1261
DTC C1261: Apply or Release Solenoid Shorted or OpenCircuit Description
Apply and release solenoids are an integral part of EBCM. Solenoids are supplied with battery power when ignition switch is in the "ON" position and ABS relay is closed. EBCM controls solenoids by grounding respective solenoid circuit when necessary.
DTC Detecting Condition
When EBCM senses an open, short to ground or a short to power on any one of the apply or release solenoids, the respective DTC will be set.
Action Taken When the DTC Sets
- ABS relay opens, removing power from solenoids.
- The respective DTC is stored.
- ABS disabled, ABS warning light turns on.
Diagnostic Aids
Make sure the integrity of the connection between EBCM and BPMV is secure, tight and free from corrosion.
Since solenoids are an integral part of EBCM, any one of the DTC(s) will usually indicate an internal fault to EBCM.
