DTC Confirmation Procedure
P0442
NOTE:
- If DTC other than aimed DTC are previously detected in DTC confirmation procedure, be sure to troubleshoot DTC previously detected.
- Make sure that the following conditions are satisfied when using this procedure.
- 10.5 V < Battery voltage < 18.1 V
- 25% < Fuel level < 85%
- BARO > 73 kPa (548 mmHg, 21.6 inHg, 0.73 bar) (Altitude: lower than 2,700 m (8,858 ft))
- 3.8 °C (39 °F) < ECT at engine starting < 35.3 °C (96 °F)
- 1.5 °C (35 °F) < Ambient temperature < 32.3 °C (90 °F)
- ECT - IAT < 9 °C (16 °F)
- Ignition switch to OFF position and keep it for 5 hours.
1. Start engine and warm up to normal operating temperature.
2. Turn ignition switch to OFF position and keep it to cold engine condition.
3. Start engine and warm up to normal operating temperature.
4. Run engine at idle speed for 10 min.
5. Drive vehicle by 10 km (6 mile) or more.
P0455
NOTE:
- For other than Mexican specification:
Make sure that the following conditions are satisfied when using this procedure.
- 10.5 V < Battery voltage < 18.1 V
- 15% < Fuel level < 85%
- 3.8 °C (39 °F) < ECT at engine starting < 35.3 °C (96 °F)
- 1.5 °C (35 °F) < Ambient temperature < 32.3 °C (90 °F)
- ECT - IAT < 9 °C (16 °F)
- Ignition switch to OFF position and keep it for 5 hours.
- BARO > 68 kPa (510 mmHg, 20.1 inHg, 0.68 bar) (Altitude: lower than 3,200 m (10,499 ft))
- For Mexican specification:
Make sure that the following conditions are satisfied when using this procedure.
- 10.5 V < Battery voltage < 18.1 V
- 25% < Fuel level < 85%
- 3.8 °C (39 °F) < ECT at engine started < 35.3 °C (96 °F)
- 1.5 °C (35 °F) < Ambient temperature < 32.3 °C (90 °F)
- ECT - IAT < 9 °C (16 °F)
- Ignition switch to OFF position and keep it for 5 hours.
- BARO > 73 kPa (548 mmHg, 21.6 inHg, 0.73 bar) (Altitude: lower than 2,700 m (8,858 ft))
1. Start engine and drive vehicle at 56 km/h (35 mile/h) for more than 5 min.
2. Run engine at idle speed for 5 min.
P0456
NOTE:
- If DTC other than aimed DTC are previously detected in DTC confirmation procedure, be sure to troubleshoot DTC previously detected.
- ECM calculates the measured fuel tank pressure in "Very Small Leak Test" up to 1 time per 1 driving cycle.
- ECM calculates the average of measured fuel tank pressure in "Very Small Leak Test" based on the last 6 measurements.
- The past measurements are deleted when the DTC is cleared or the battery is disconnected.
- In case that the past measurements are deleted, it is necessary to perform the DTC confirmation procedure at least 6 driving cycles in order to complete the diagnosing of very small leak in EVAP system
1. Clear DTC.
2. Make sure that the following conditions are met before starting engine.
- Battery voltage > 10.8 V
- BARO > 68 kPa (510 mmHg, 20.1 inHg, 0.68 bar) (Altitude: lower than 3,200 m (10,499 ft))
- 1.5 °C (35 °F) < Ambient temperature < 32.3 °C (90 °F)
- ECT at engine starting < 42 °C (108 °F)
- ECT - IAT < 9.75 °C (16 °F)1
- 15% < Fuel level < 85%
3. Drive vehicle under the following conditions.
- Driving distance > 10 km (6 mile)
- Driving time > 10 min.
- ECT at the end of driving > 75 °C (167 °F)
4. Stop vehicle and run engine at idle speed for 1 min.
5. Turn ignition switch to OFF position for 1 hour.
6. Repeat step 1) through 4) 6 times.
7. Turn ignition switch to ON position. (Do not start engine at this time)
8. Check whether evaporative system readiness / mounting completed using scan tool. If readiness / mounting been incomplete, check vehicle conditions (environmental) and repeat Step 1) through 5).
