P2102
DTC P2102 / P2103
DTC Detecting Condition and Trouble Area
Wiring Diagram
Refer to P0122 DTC P0122 / P0123.
DTC Confirmation Procedure
1) Turn ignition switch to ON position for 10 sec.
2) Turn OFF ignition switch for 10 sec.
DTC Troubleshooting (P2102)
1.
Was "Engine and Emission Control System Check" performed?
YES -
Go to Step 2.
NO -
Go to Engine and Emission Control System Check Engine and Emission Control System Check.
2. Throttle motor control relay circuit check
Check throttle motor control relay. Testing and Inspection
Is it in good condition?
YES -
Go to Step 3.
NO -
Replace throttle motor control relay.
3. Throttle motor control relay power supply circuit check
Turn OFF ignition switch and remove throttle motor control relay.
Check for proper terminal connection to throttle motor control relay connector.
If connections are OK, check that voltage between throttle motor control relay power supply circuit (A1 - A2) and vehicle body ground is battery voltage.
Is it in good condition?
YES -
Go to Step 4.
NO -
Repair or replace defective wire harness.
4. Throttle motor control relay drive circuit and throttle motor power supply circuit check
Turn OFF ignition switch and disconnect connectors from ECM.
Check that throttle motor control relay drive circuit (A3) and throttle motor power supply circuit (A4) are as follows.
- Wiring harness resistance of throttle motor control relay drive circuit and throttle motor power supply circuit is less than 3 ohms.
- Insulation resistance between throttle motor control relay drive circuit and throttle motor power supply circuit and vehicle body ground is infinity.
- Insulation resistance of wire harness is infinity between throttle motor control relay drive circuit terminal and each terminal at throttle motor control relay connector.
- Insulation resistance of wire harness is infinity between throttle motor power supply circuit terminal and each terminal at throttle motor control relay connector.
- Circuit voltage of throttle motor control relay drive circuit and throttle motor power supply circuit is 0 - 1 V with ignition switch in ON position.
Are they in good condition?
YES -
Substitute a known-good ECM and recheck.
NO -
Repair or replace defective wire harness.
