Propeller Shaft Removal and Installation
Removal
NOTE:
For 4WD model, when removing rear propeller shaft, never pull the shaft (2) or cover part (3). Hold ball joint part (1) securely, and then remove rear propeller shaft.
1) Hoist vehicle.
2) Give match marks (1) on joint flange and propeller shaft as shown in the figure.
3) Remove rear propeller shaft.
4) Remove transfer rear output flange (1) from rear output shaft using special tool. (4WD model only)

Installation
Reverse removal procedure to install propeller shaft noting the following points.
- Clean and inspect sliding portion of propeller shaft end (where oil seal contacts) before installation and if even small dent or scratch exists, correct end clean it again.
Then apply grease inside splines of propeller shaft.
Grease: 99000-25011 (SUZUKI Super Grease A)
- Install propeller shaft aligning match marks. Otherwise, vibration may occur during driving.
- Use the following specification to torque each flange nuts and bolts.
- Fill transfer with oil, if rear propeller shaft (2WD model) or transfer rear output flange (4WD model) is removed.
- 2WD model: Extension Case Oil Change
- Motor-shift type 4WD model:
- Non-shift type 4WD model:
- Replace circlip on transfer rear output shaft with new one if transfer rear output flange (4WD model only) is removed.
Tightening torque
Front propeller shaft flange bolt (a): 30 Nm (3.0 kgf-m, 22.0 lbf-ft)
Rear propeller shaft flange nut 50 Nm (5.0 kgf-m, 36.5 lbf-ft)
