Transmission Shift Control Lever Removal and Installation

Removal

1) Remove gear shift control lever knob.
2) Remove gear shift boot and gear shift control lever silencer.
3) Remove front console box referring to Diagrams Console Box Components.
4) Remove gear shift boot silencer.
5) Lift up boot cover (1), boot No.2 (2) and boot No.1 (3).
6) Remove case cover (4) and take out shift control lever (5) from gear shift control arm assembly (6).






Installation

Transmission Shift Control Lever Inspection
1) Apply grease to pivot portions, then install shift control lever.

"A" Grease: 99000-25011 (SUZUKI Super Grease A)





2) Set shift control lever (2) to gear shift control arm assembly (3).
3) Install case cover (1) to gear shift control arm assembly. Tighten case cover bolt to specified torque.

Tightening torque
Gear shift control lever case cover bolt (a): 10 Nm (1.0 kgf-m, 7.5 lbf-ft)





4) Install boot No.1 (1), boot cover (2) and boot No.2 (3). Tighten control lever boot cover bolt to specified torque.

Tightening torque
Control lever boot cover bolt (a): 12 Nm (1.2 kgf-m, 9.0 lbf-ft)





5) Install gear shift boot silencer.
6) Install front console box referring to Diagrams Console Box Components.
7) Install gear shift control lever silencer and boot.
8) Install gear shift control lever knob.
