P0118
WIRING DIAGRAM
CIRCUIT DESCRIPTION
Incorporated with coolant temp. gauge and installed to thermostat case, this sensor measures the temperature of the engine coolant and converts its change into that in resistance through the thermistor like the air temperature sensor. That is, as coolant temperature lowers, resistance increases and as it rises, resistance decreases. By monitoring the resistance of the coolant temperature sensor, ECM detects the engine coolant temperature and that affects most systems under the control of ECM.
DETECTING CONDITION AND POSSIBLE CAUSE
NOTE: When DTC P0108, P0113, P0118 and P0123 are indicated together, it is possible that "G/R" circuit is open.
DTC CONFIRMATION PROCEDURE
1. Clear DTC, start engine and keep it at idle for 1 min.
2. Select "DTC" mode on scan tool and check DTC.
NOTE: When this DTC and P17O5 are stored together, also clear DTC stored in Transmission Control Module after completion of repair.
