CIRCUIT DESCRIPTION
Located on the air cleaner hose, this sensor constantly measures the temperature of the air entering there and converts a change in the air temperature into that in resistance through its thermistor. That is, as air temperature lowers, resistance increases and as it rises, resistance decreases. As air density of the intake air varies with variation in temperature, ECM, by monitoring the resistance, adjusts the amount of fuel injection according to the air temperature.





DETECTING CONDITION

DTC CONFIRMATION PROCEDURE
1) Clear DTC and turn ignition switch OFF
2) Confirm that engine coolant temp. is lower than 30°C (86°F). If it is the specified temp. or higher, cool engine.
3) Start engine and run it for 10 min. or more.
4) Check DTC and pending DTC.
