P0123
DTC P0123 THROTTLE POSITION CIRCUIT HIGH INPUT
WIRING DIAGRAM
CIRCUIT DESCRIPTION
The throttle position sensor is connected to the throttle valve shaft on the throttle body, and detects the throttle valve opening. The throttle opening is detected by the potentiometer as follows. A 5-volt reference voltage is applied to the sensor from ECM and as its brush moves over the print resistance according to the throttle valve opening, the output voltage varies accordingly.
By monitoring sensor output voltage, ECM detects the throttle valve opening.
ECM uses the signal from TP sensor as one of the signals to control various devices.
DETECTING CONDITION
NOTE: When DTC P0108, Poll 3, P0118, P0123 and/or P0450 are indicated together, it is possible that "GIR" circuit is open.
DTC CONFIRMATION PROCEDURE
1) Clear DTC, start engine and keep it at idle for 1 mm.
2) Select "DTC" mode on scan toll and check DTC.
NOTE: When this DTC and P1700 are stored together, also clear DTC stored in TCM alter completion of repair.
