DTC CONFIRMATION PROCEDURE

WARNING:
^ When performing a road test, select a place where there is no traffic or possibility of a traffic accident and be very careful during testing to avoid occurrence of an accident.

^ Road test should be carried out with 2 persons, a driver and a tester, on a level road.

CAUTION: Be sure to perform steps in ENGINE DIAG. FLOW TABLE before proceeding to the following procedure to prevent the engine from being overheated.
Engine Diagnostic Flow Chart

1) Turn ignition switch OFF. Clear DTC with ignition switch ON, check vehicle and environmental condition for:

- Indicator of fuel level meter in combination meter: within 1/4 - 3/4
- Altitude (barometric pressure): 2,400m, 8,000ft or less (560mmHg, 75kPa or more)
- Ambient temp.: -10°C, 14°F or higher
- Intake air temp.: 70°C, 158°F or lower

2) Start engine and increase vehicle speed to about 40mph (60km/h).

3) Reduce vehicle speed about 30mph (50km/h) and then increase it to about 40mph (60km/h) within about 1 minute. (under driving condition other than high-load, high-engine speed, rapid accelerating and decelerating).

4) Repeat above step 3) for 29 minutes including stops at traffic lights. After every stop, restore vehicle speed as described in above step 3) quickly.

5) Stop vehicle (do not turn ignition switch OFF).

6) Check pending DTC in "PENDING DTC" mode and DTC in "DTC" mode.
