Wiring Diagram

DTC Detecting Condition and Trouble Area

DTC Confirmation Procedure

WARNING:

- When performing a road test, select a place where there is no traffic or possibility of a traffic accident and be very careful during testing to avoid occurrence of an accident.
- Road test should be carried out with 2 persons, a driver and tester, on a level road.

1) Connect scan tool to DLC with ignition switch OFF.
2) Clear DTCs in TCM and ECM memories by using scan tool and start engine.
3) Start vehicle and increase vehicle speed to about 70 km/h (44 mile/h) in both "D" and "2" range.
4) Keep driving the vehicle speed for 20 seconds.
5) Release accelerator pedal, decrease vehicle speed and stop vehicle.
6) Turn ignition switch OFF.
7) Repeat Step 4) to 6) one time.
8) Check DTC, pending DTC and freeze frame data.

DTC Troubleshooting

1.
Was "A/T System Check" performed?
YES
Go to Step 2.
NO
Go to A/T System Check.

2.
Do you have SUZUKI scan tool?
YES
Go to Step 3.
NO
Go to Step 4.

3. Check transmission range sensor (switch) circuit for operation.

Check by using SUZUKI scan tool:
Connect SUZUKI scan tool to DLC with ignition switch OFF.
Turn ignition switch ON and check transmission range signal ("P", "R", "N", "D", "2" or "L") on display when shifting select lever to each range.

Is applicable range indicated?
YES
Intermittent trouble.
Check for intermittent referring to Intermittent and Poor Connection Inspection.
NO
Go to Step 5.

4. Check transmission range sensor (switch) circuit for operation.

Check by not using SUZUKI scan tool:
Turn ignition switch ON.
Check voltage at terminals "G07-1", "G07-2", "G07-8", "G07-9", "G07-20" and "G07-21" respectively with select lever shifted to each range.

Taking terminal "G07-21" as an example, is battery voltage will be indicated only when select lever is shifted to "2" range and 0 V for other ranges as shown in table.

Check voltage at other terminals likewise, referring to table.

Are check results satisfactory?
YES
Intermittent trouble.
Check for intermittent referring to Intermittent and Poor Connection Inspection.
NO
Go to Step 5.

5. Check select cable for adjustment

Check select cable for adjustment referring to Selector Cable Adjustment.

Is it adjusted correctly?
YES
Go to Step 6.
NO
Adjust.

6. Check transmission range sensor for installation position.

Shift select lever to "N" range.
Check that "N" reference line on switch and center line on shaft are aligned.

Are check results satisfactory?
YES
Go to Step 7.
NO
Adjust.

7. Check transmission range sensor

Check transmission range sensor (switch) referring to Transmission Range Sensor (Shift Switch) Inspection and Adjustment.

Are check results satisfactory?
YES
"RED/BLK", "YEL/RED", "YEL" or "RED/BLU" circuit open. If wires and connections are OK, substitute a known-good TCM and recheck.
NO
Replace Transmission range sensor.
