DTC B1372: Driver Seat Position Sensor Circuit Open

DTC Troubleshooting

1.
Was "Air Bag Diagnostic System Check Flow" performed?
YES -
Go to Step 2.
NO -
Go to Air Bag Diagnostic System Check Flow Air Bag Diagnostic System Check Flow:Advanced Air Bag.

2. Seat position sensor circuit check

With ignition switch turned OFF, disconnect seat position sensor connector "L39".
Disconnect SDM connector "L04".
Check for proper connection to SDM connector at terminals "L04-38".
Check for proper connection to seat position sensor connector at terminal in connector "L39".
Measure resistance between "L04-38" and "L39-2" terminals, between "L39-1" and body ground.
Special Tool

(A): 09932-76010





Is each measured resistance 1 ohms or less?
YES -
Go to Step 3.
NO -
Repair open in defective wire.

3. Seat position sensor circuit check

With ignition turned ON, measure voltage between "L39-2" terminal and body ground.
Special Tool

(A): 09932-76010





Is each measured voltage 0 V?
YES -
Replace seat position sensor, and recheck.
If DTC still detected, replace SDM.
NO -
Repair short to power supply circuit or other circuit in defective wire.

NOTE:

Upon completion of inspection and repair work, perform the following items.

- Reconnect all air bag system components and ensure all components are properly mounted.
- Clear DTCs referring to DTC Clearance DTC Clearance:Advanced Air Bag
, if any.

- Repeat Air Bag Diagnostic System Check Air Bag Diagnostic System Check:Advanced Air Bag
to confirm that the trouble has been corrected.
