DTC Check
DTC Check
NOTE:
When connecting battery to vehicle for this DTC check, be sure to complete the following procedure at least once before performing this DTC check.
1 Turn on ignition switch.
2 Turn off ignition switch.
3 Wait at least 1 second and turn on ignition switch.
Otherwise, HVAC control module detects "Back-up Power Supply Circuit Malfunction".
Using SUZUKI Scan Tool
1) Turn off ignition switch.
2) Connect SUZUKI scan tool to DLC (1) located on underside of driver side instrument panel.
Special Tool
(A): SUZUKI scan tool (SUZUKI-SDT)
3) Shine an 100 W incandescent light or the like on sunload sensor (1) 100 mm (3.94 in.) high from the sensor
NOTE:
Do not use fluorescent light, LED and etc for this check. HVAC control module detects "Sun Load Sensor Circuit Malfunction" and the DTC is displayed on scan tool because light volume is insufficient.
4) Turn on ignition switch.
5) Read DTC according to instructions displayed on SUZUKI scan tool and print it or write it down. Refer to SUZUKI scan tool operator's manual for further details.
NOTE:
When scan tool cannot access HVAC control module, attempt to access HVAC control module on another vehicle for checking if scan tool is accessible.
If scan tool is accessible in this check, scan tool is in good condition. Then check DLC and serial data line (circuit) on the vehicle.
6) After completing the check, turn ignition switch to OFF position and disconnect SUZUKI scan tool from DLC.
Not Using SUZUKI Scan Tool
Current DTC
1) Shine an 100 W incandescent light on sunload sensor (1) 100 mm (3.94 in.) high from sunload sensor
NOTE:
Do not use fluorescent light, LED and etc for this check. HVAC control module detects "Sun Load Sensor Circuit Malfunction" and the DTC is displayed on scan tool because light volume is insufficient.
2) Turn on ignition switch and perform the following steps to start current DTC check within 15 seconds.
a) Move temperature selector (1) to set temperature setting to 25 °C (72 °F).
b) Push A/C switch (2) and defrost switch (3) on auto A/C panel simultaneously.
NOTE:
HVAC control module checks systems for 15 seconds after turning on ignition switch. In the meantime, LCD displays "- - -".
3) LCD displays current DTCs in order of descending priorities at 4 seconds intervals.
LCD displays "End" after those all-detected DTCs are displayed and return to first DTC.
LCD repeats displaying until that one of conditions to cancel current DTC check is satisfied.
NOTE:
- When no DTC exists, LCD repeats displaying "End" at 4 seconds intervals.
- Current DTC check is cancelled when one of the following conditions is satisfied.
- Ignition switch is turned off.
- A/C switch and defrost switch on auto A/C panel are pushed simultaneously.
- 3 minutes have elapsed since DTC check has begun.
Current DTC exists (for example) DTC: 2.1
No current DTC exists (for example)
4) After completing current DTC check, turn off ignition switch.
History DTC
5) Turn on ignition switch and perform the following steps to start history DTC check within 15 seconds.
a) Move temperature selector (1) to set temperature setting 25 °C (72 °F).
b) Push A/C switch (2) and "MODE" (air flow) switch (3) on auto A/C panel simultaneously within 15 seconds of turning on ignition switch at Step 1).
6) LCD displays history DTCs in order of descending priorities at 4 seconds intervals.
LCD displays "End" after those all-stored DTCs are displayed and return to first DTC.
LCD repeats displaying until one of conditions to cancel history DTC check is satisfied.
NOTE:
- "FAN" mark (1) is also indicated on LCD during the history DTC check.
- When no DTC exists, LCD repeats displaying "End" at 4 seconds intervals.
- History DTC check is cancelled when one of the following conditions is satisfied.
- Ignition switch is turned off.
- A/C switch and "MODE" (air flow) switch on auto A/C panel are pushed simultaneously.
- 3 minutes have elapsed since DTC check has begun.
History DTCs exist (for example) DTC: 2.1, 3.1
