Steering Angle Sensor On-Vehicle Inspection

NOTE:

Before each inspection, confirm steering angle sensor calibration is completed.

If calibration is incomplete, calibrate sensor referring to Programming and Relearning Sensor Calibration of ESP(R).

1) Connect SUZUKI scan tool to DLC (1) with ignition switch OFF.
Special Tool

(A): SUZUKI scan tool (SUZUKI-SDT)





2) Turn ignition switch to ON position and select menu "Data List" mode of SUZUKI scan tool.

Refer to scan tool operator's manual for further derails.
3) Check parameter data of "Steering Angle Sen" in "Data List" mode under each of the following conditions:
- When steering wheel is in straight-ahead position.
- When steering wheel is turned one rotation from straight-ahead position clockwise and then counterclockwise.
If steering angle displayed on scan tool is out of specified value, replace steering angle sensor.
