Fuel Pump Relay: Testing and Inspection

INSPECTION





1. Remove fuel pump relay.
2. Inspect fuel pump relay.
- Inspect relay continuity.





- Using an ohmmeter, check that there is continuity between terminals +B1 and FPR.
- Check that there is continuity between terminals +B1 and FP.
- Check that there is no continuity between terminals +B1 and PR.
- If continuity is not as specified, replace the relay.
- Inspect relay operation.





- Apply battery voltage across terminals +B1 and FPR.
- Using an ohmmeter, check that there is no continuity between terminals +B and FP.
- Using a voltmeter, check that there is battery voltage between terminals PR and FPR.
- If operation is not as specified, replace the relay.
3. Reinstall fuel pump relay.
