DTC P0758 Shift Solenoid "B" ElectricalCIRCUIT DESCRIPTION
Shifting from the 1st gear to the 0/D gear is combined with ON and OFF operation of the shift solenoid valves No. 1 and No. 2 controlled by the ECM. If an open or a short circuit occurs in either of the shift solenoid valves, the ECM controls the remaining normal shift solenoid valve to allow the vehicle to be operated smoothly (Fail-safe function).
Fail-safe function:
If either of the shift solenoid valve circuits develops an open or short, the ECM turns the other shift solenoid valve ON and OFF to allow the vehicle to shift the gear positions as shown in the table. The ECM also turns the shift solenoid valve SL OFF at the same time. If both solenoid valves are malfunctioning, the hydraulic control cannot be performed electrically and must be done manually.
DTC Detecting Condition:
Manual shifting must be performed as shown in the table (In case of a short circuit, the ECM stops sending current to the short-circuited solenoid valve).
HINT: The shift solenoid A means the shift solenoid valve No. 1. The shift solenoid B means the shift solenoid valve No. 2.
