INSPECTION PROCEDURE
PROCEDURE
1. CHECK DTC
(a) Check the output DTC (axle system, electronically controlled brake system, CAN communication system).
Result:
HINT: When DTCs indicating a CAN communication system malfunction are output, repair the CAN communication system before repairing each corresponding sensor.
C -- REPAIR CIRCUITS INDICATED BY OUTPUT DTCS
B -- REPAIR CIRCUITS INDICATED BY OUTPUT DTCS
A -- Continue to next step.
2. CHECK TIRE CONDITION
(a) Check the size and condition of all 4 tires.
HINT: This DTC is output when tire deformation or a difference in tire sizes is detected.
OK:
The diameter and air pressure of all 4 tires are the same.
NG -- REPLACE TIRES SO THAT ALL 4 TIRE ARE SAME IN SIZE, OR ADJUST TIRE PRESSURE
OK -- Continue to next step.
3. READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM (FRONT AND REAR SPEED SENSOR)
(a) Turn the power switch off.
(b) Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
(c) Turn the power switch on (READY).
(d) Select the Data List mode on the Techstream. Data List / Active Test
(e) Drive the vehicle several times and check that the speed values detected at all 4 wheels displayed on the Techstream are the same.
DATA LIST: ABS/TRAC/VSC
OK:
The vehicle speed detected at all 4 wheels must be indicated on the Techstream.
NG -- CHECK SPEED SENSOR SIGNAL CIRCUIT (BRAKE CONTROL SYSTEM)
OK -- Continue to next step.
4. RECONFIRM DTC OUTPUT
(a) Turn the power switch off.
(b) Clear the DTC.
(c) Turn the power switch on (READY).
(d) Drive the vehicle at the speed of 32 km/h (20 mph) or more for at least 60 seconds.
(e) Check if the same DTC is recorded
Result:
B -- END
A -- REPLACE SKID CONTROL ECU ASSEMBLY
