DTC C2179/79 - Tire Pressure Monitor ECU Communication Stop

DESCRIPTION

The tire pressure warning ECU receives speed signals from the combination meter via CAN communication.






INSPECTION PROCEDURE
NOTICE:
- When replacing the tire pressure warning ECU, read the IDs stored in the old ECU using Techstream and write them down before removal.
- It is necessary to perform registration of the transmitter IDs into the tire pressure warning ECU after the ECU has been replaced. Programming and Relearning

PROCEDURE

1. CHECK CAN COMMUNICATION SYSTEM
(a) Turn the power switch off.
(b) Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
(c) Turn the power switch on (IG) and turn the Techstream on.
(d) Enter the following menus:
Select: "Bus Check" from the "System Select" / "Communication Malfunction DTC" from the "Bus Check" screen
(e) Check the CAN communication system Diagnosis System.
NG -- GO TO CAN COMMUNICATION SYSTEM
OK -- Continue to next step.
2. CHECK VEHICLE SPEED SIGNAL (DATA LIST)
(a) Turn the power switch off.
(b) Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
(c) Turn the power switch on (IG) and turn the Techstream on.
(d) Enter the following menus: Chassis / Tire Pressure Monitor / Data List.
(e) Check that the values indicated on the Techstream and on the combination meter are the same.

OK:
The vehicle speed displayed on the Techstream changes depending on the actual vehicle speed.
NG -- GO TO METER / GAUGE SYSTEM
OK -- Continue to next step.
3. PERFORM SIGNAL CHECK (VEHICLE SPEED SIGNAL)
(a) Enter the signal check mode in TEST MODE PROCEDURE. Test Mode Procedure
(b) Drive the vehicle at 20 km/h (12 mph) or more for 3 seconds to erase DTC C2191/91.
(c) Check the test mode DTCs.
