DTC P0AF8-816 - Hybrid Battery System Voltage
DESCRIPTION
MONITOR DESCRIPTION
If the battery smart unit detects an abnormal drop in HV battery voltage, the hybrid vehicle control ECU will turn on the MIL and set a DTC.

PROCEDURE
1. CHECK DTC OUTPUT (HV)
(a) Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
(b) Turn the power switch on (IG).
(c) Select the following menu items: Powertrain / Hybrid Control / Trouble Codes.
(d) Check if DTCs are output.
Result:
B -- GO TO DTC CHART Diagnostic Trouble Code Descriptions
A -- Continue to next step.
2. CHECK ENGINE START
(a) Turn the power switch on (READY).
(b) Check if the engine starts.
HINT: Depressing the accelerator pedal with the shift lever in the P position will cause the engine to start.

B -- REPLACE HV BATTERY
A -- LEAVE VEHICLE IN P POSITION, AND CHARGE HV BATTERY BY IDLING UNTIL IDLING STOPS
