DTC P1606-308 - Collision Detection

DESCRIPTION

In the event of a collision, the hybrid vehicle control ECU receives a signal from the center airbag sensor assembly and/or circuit breaker sensor (front collision sensor) that indicates a collision. After a collision is detected, the hybrid vehicle control ECU shuts off the high-voltage systems for safety.





HINT: If P1606-308 is output, the hybrid system cannot be turned on unless the DTC is cleared using Techstream.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

PROCEDURE

1. CHECK VEHICLE FOR COLLISION DAMAGE
(a) Check the vehicle condition.
Result:






B -- REPAIR VEHICLE
A -- Continue to next step.
2. CHECK DTC OUTPUT (HV)
(a) Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
(b) Turn the power switch on (IG).
(c) Select the following menu items: Powertrain / Hybrid Control / Trouble Codes.
(d) Check if DTCs are output.

B -- GO TO DTC CHART Diagnostic Trouble Code Descriptions (P0A1D)
A -- Continue to next step.
3. CHECK SUPPLEMENTAL RESTRAINT SYSTEM
(a) Troubleshoot the supplemental restraint system.

B -- REPAIR MALFUNCTIONING PARTS, COMPONENT AND AREA
A -- Continue to next step.
4. CONFIRM INFORMATION (EXCLUSIVE INFO 1 TO 2)
(a) Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
(b) Turn the power switch on (IG).
(c) Select the following menu items: Powertrain / Hybrid Control / Trouble Codes.
(d) Access the freeze frame data corresponding to DTC P1606 and select the information.
(e) Read "Specific Information" of the information of INF code 308.
