DTC B1242 - Wireless Door Lock Tuner Circuit Malfunction

DESCRIPTION

The door control receiver receives signals from the transmitter and sends these signals to the main body ECU. This DTC is output when the applicable RDA signal cannot be received within 1 second of the PRG signal being output from the main body ECU.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

PROCEDURE

1. CLEAR DTC
(a) Clear the DTC (Reading and Clearing Diagnostic Trouble Codes).
NEXT -- Continue to next step.
2. CHECK FOR DTC
(a) Check for DTC (Reading and Clearing Diagnostic Trouble Codes).
OK:
DTC B1242 is not output.
NG -- CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (MAIN BODY ECU - DOOR CONTROL RECEIVER)
OK -- USE SIMULATION METHOD TO CHECK
3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (MAIN BODY ECU - DOOR CONTROL RECEIVER)





(a) Disconnect the J3 ECU connector.
(b) Disconnect the Q7 receiver connector.
(c) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard resistance:





NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK -- Continue to next step.
4. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (DOOR CONTROL RECEIVER - BATTERY AND BODY GROUND)





(a) Disconnect the Q7 receiver connector.
(b) Measure the resistance and voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard resistance:





Standard voltage:





NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK -- Continue to next step.
5. REPLACE DOOR CONTROL RECEIVER
(a) Temporarily replace the door control receiver with a new or normally functioning one.
(1) For Regular Cab, refer to the following procedures (Components).
(2) For Double Cab, refer to the following procedures (Components).
(3) For CrewMax, refer to the following procedures (Service and Repair).
(b) Perform the REGISTRATION procedures (Registration).

6. CLEAR DTC
(a) Clear the DTC (Reading and Clearing Diagnostic Trouble Codes).
NEXT -- Continue to next step.
7. CHECK FOR DTC
(a) Check for DTC (Reading and Clearing Diagnostic Trouble Codes).
OK:
DTC B1242 is not output.
NG -- REPLACE MAIN BODY ECU (DRIVER SIDE JUNCTION BLOCK)
OK -- END (DOOR CONTROL RECEIVER IS DEFECTIVE)
